My Trip to Boracay

          It was a very busy day. Attending online classes, making outputs, passing homeworks and trying to pass projects before the due date. It was almost my finals week. I remember being so tired that all I want to do is sleep thinking that it will magically be over once I wake up. But sadly, It won’t. but little did I know, my mom and my best friends’ mom planned a trip for me and my best friend, Nikki. When my mom told me about the news, I jumped with joy. I instantly called Nikki to tell her the news. I can still recall her cheery voice saying “Buri!!! Magboboracay tayo!!” I remember our excitement about the trip went to the roof that we instantly started planning about what were about to do and what to bring on the trip. We actually color coded our outfit so that we will be matching when we see each other. We were so excited about the trip that I almost forgot about my requirements. Keyword, almost! So, I ended the call immediately and quickly tended to my requirements that was looking at me looking like it was begging me to be done so I can pass it already. I remember typing away on my laptop while making my paper. Suddenly, one question popped in my head. So, while typing, I ask my mom, ma! When is trip? and she answered, April 26 until 29! Why? I stopped typing and look at my mom. My excitement disappeared and my mind went blank. Then I asked myself why the date changed my mood, I kept thinking about it, then it clicked. Midterm week! Well, not really official but it was the rumored date. Oh well…

        Let’s move forward to the weekend before our flight. Our midterm just ended and I can say that I am relieved because I can enjoy my mini-vacation without having to thinking much about school. Though, I still need to attend my classes so that I wont miss anything. Anyway, my mom and I already finished packing our stuff so were pretty much relaxed. We also printed our documents that we might need for our flight and we put them in a separate pouch with our IDs.

 I woke up on the day of our flight feeling excited…and sleepy. We woke up at 4am get ready then went straight to the airport. As the sun slowly rises to the sky, we arrived at the airport. It’s a good thing that we check-in online because the line was long when we arrive. The moment I walked inside the waiting area; I was engulfed in a tight hug. It was my Nikki. we sat on an empty chair and talked about everything while we wait for them to announce our flight. A little bit later, our flight number was announced so we quickly went to our designated gate to go to the plane. Since me and Nikki seats are assigned next to each other, we quickly took our seats and wait for the flight attendant to give us instructions. When the plane started moving, Nikki quickly opened her phone and took a video as the plane accelerates before going finally ascends towards the sky. 

             The moment we arrived at the Caticlan Airport; we immediately left the aircraft to go to the nearest booth here we can find our ride designated to go to the boats. After a quick ride, we reached the boats. Wefirst went to the booth to pay for our fare. A tourguide later assisted us so that we can reach our boat safely. After 15 minutes, we reached our desitination. We then hailed an e-trike to reach our hotel. After we checked-in, we stayed at the hotel for a while. The room that we book is a big family room. It has 2 queen sized bed and an extra mattress. Our room was on the rooftop so we have a beautiful view of the beach. The also have chairs and tables there. I slept while Nikki attended her online class. I woke up at 3 o’clock and I opened my eyes to them getting ready to go to the beach. I then quickly get ready so we can all go together. I wore a white swimsuit and a gray beach dress as a cover-up. After were done getting ready, we went out to the hotel to go to the beach. we swam a little on the white sand beach. it is really beautiful. The white sand is calming especially when you walk on the sand without any footwear. The water is really clear. And its warm. I don’t usually enjoy beaches but this is different. It’s something that I can genuinely enjoy. There’s not much people in our location so we enjoyed it even more. After spending a bit of time in the water, we left the beach and explored the beachside. We walked while looking at the stalls and restaurants. We bought ice cream, KFC, and a bag while exploring. We then decided to go back to the hotel to rest early for we have scheduled an island hopping and island tour on the next 2 days.

“The day is faster when one is having fun.” I guess this is true. The next two days is like a blur. We did so many things in the following day, yet it still felt like we did nothing but relax. We went to so many places in Boracay like in Puka Beach, a place In the middle of the ocean where we did snorkling, crystal cove, and so many more places. But I think one of the most memorable places that we went to is the crystal cove. That time, the current in crystal cove is really strong that if you attempted to swim in that cove, you will end up getting slammed into the rocks. It’s really fun because I finally got to experience that kind of place even though its kid of dangerous. I really love it and I had a lot of fun. I think our tour guide wants to laugh at me because I was so chatty on the way there because I’m really excited to see those powerful waves. When we entered the cave into the place where you can take pictures with the waves, I asked our tour guide if I can swim there; pointing to the angry ocean. The tour guide said, “pwede naman, tapos I bodyslammka ng tubig pabalik.” I really laughed at kuya because he also said that if I want, I can pose as Ariel from the little mermaid because there is a rock that looks like the one where she posed while singing “part of your world” then cue the strong current. It was a really enjoyable moment, and it became more memorable because our tour guide has the same humor as ours.

 Another thing that I enjoyed the most is the Banana Boat ride with my mom. This is one of the moments where I genuinely enjoyed the moment because my mom is with me even though she doesn’t like these kinds of things. We were screaming with joy as the speed boat zoomed really fast with our banana boat connected at the back. When the night came, we went to D’mall where we explore the night life here in Boracay. Where ate ice cream at Halomango. It was really good. we also saw some celebrities and ifluencers including one tiktok influencer that I follow and idolize. We took photos and chat a bit before moving along. We then ended the night with us walking by the beach quietly while enjoying the night beach.

On the last day of our trip, we woke up way before the sun rises to fix our things before we leave. I, on the other hand, went to D’Mall to buy souvenirs for my siblings. My mom told me to be back before 7 am so that I can see our tour guide because he said that he wants to see us before we go back to manila, but the moment I reached our hotel room at 6:59, they told me that he already left. It was 6:59! Anyway, we spent the remaining time playing games and sharing stories reminiscing our trip. a little bit later, we went to the lobby to check-out and to leave for the airport. Since our flight is at 10am, we left a bit early. And it was a good thing because when we arrive at the airport, there’s only a few people inside. But, as time goes by, people started arriving until the airport is full. The moment that our flight number was called, we immediately went to the flight attendant near our designated gate to take our ticket and assist us to the bus designated to take us to the plane. When we reach the plane, the flight stewardess immediately assisted us to our seats and waiting to give us instructions. As plane started moving, I closed my eyes for a little while because it started to get a little tired. As soon as opened them again, the plane stopped moving meaning we already landed. So, I took my stuff and leave the aircraft to go to the arrival area. Nikki and I said our farewell while our moms put our stuffs inside the car. We parted ways as we went inside the car. I reminisce about our trip as I wait for the car to reach the destination.
